Edit chat name and photo

A fitting photo and a unique chat name make it easy for people to quickly find a chat. Only chat owners can update the names and photos of chats they’ve created. Keep reading to learn how to:

Edit a chat name

A chat’s name should give chat members a clear idea of the chat’s purpose. However, things can change, and you can rename an existing chat at any time. Here’s how to do it:

  1. In the chat, click the three-dot icon in the top right.
  2. Select Chat details.
  1. Enter a new chat name, then click Save.

Keep in mind: A chat name should be unique within your workspace. Try to think of a predictable name to make sure chats are easy to navigate.

Upload a chat photo

  1. In the chat, click the three-dot icon in the top right.
  2. Select Chat details.

  1. Click Upload photo in the chat photo area.

  1. Select an image to upload.
  2. Adjust the framing and click Upload.

  1. Click Save once again to confirm.

Keep in mind: A chat photo should be less than 10 MB and should be in JPG, GIF, or PNG format.

Edit a chat photo

  1. In the chat, click the three-dot icon in the top right.
  2. Select Chat details.

  1. Hover over your chat photo and click Edit.
  1. Select a new photo to upload.      
  2. Adjust the framing and click Upload.

  1. Click Save again to confirm.

Keep in mind: A chat photo should be less than 10 MB and should be in JPG, GIF, or PNG format.

Delete a chat photo

  1. In the chat, click the three-dot icon in the top right.
  2. Select Chat details.

  1. Hover over your chat photo and click Delete.
  1. Click Save to confirm.
