Start chatting with clients

ExpertBox chats are a convenient way to maintain constant communication with anyone in your workspace — both clients and other experts. To join in the conversations, keep reading to learn how to:

Write and send messages

As soon as you’ve created or joined a chat, you can start sending messages to other chat members. Here’s how:

  1. Go to Chats and click on the chat you want to open.
  2. Click the message field.
  3. Type your message.
  4. Press Enter or click Send.

Tip: ExpertBox sends email notifications about all new messages to make sure all chat members get messages even if they’re offline.

Read messages

If a chat has a blue counter on it, that means there are unread messages in it. These new messages will be marked as read as soon as you open the chat.

Keep in mind: Administrators and workspace owners can read any chat in the workspace. However, only chat members can send messages.

Edit messages

Mistakes happen. Don’t worry — you can always edit a message even after you’ve hit Send. Here’s how to do it:

  1. In the chat, hover over the message you want to edit.
  2. Click the three-dots icon.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Make changes to your message in the message field.
  5. Click Save to update your message.

Keep in mind: Everybody in the chat can see if a message has been edited.

Delete messages

Keep in mind: You can’t restore a deleted message, so delete carefully.

When you delete a message in ExpertBox, it will be removed from the chat for all members. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Hover over the message you want to delete.
  2. Click the three-dots icon.
  3. Click Delete.
  4. Select Delete once again to confirm.
