Chat with experts

A chat is a convenient way to maintain constant communication with experts and other ExpertBox clients. Once you’ve received an invitation link and joined a chat, you can start chatting. Keep reading to learn how to:

Write and send messages

As soon as you’ve joined a chat, you can start sending messages to other chat participants. Here’s how:

  1. In your ExpertBox account, go to Chats and click on the chat you want to open.
  2. Click the message field.
  3. Type your message.
  4. Press Enter or click Send.

Tip: ExpertBox sends email notifications about all new messages to make sure all chat members get messages even if they’re offline.

Read messages

If a chat has a blue counter on it, that means there are unread messages in it. These new messages will be marked as read as soon as you open the chat.

Edit messages

Mistakes happen. Don’t worry — you can always edit a message even after you’ve hit Send. Here’s how to do it:

  1. In the chat, hover over the message you want to edit.
  2. Click the three-dots icon.
  3. Click Edit.

  1. Make changes to your message in the message field.

  1. Click Save to update your message.

Keep in mind: Everybody in the chat can see if a message has been edited.

Delete messages

Keep in mind: You can’t restore a deleted message, so delete carefully.

When you delete a message in an ExpertBox chat, it will be removed from the chat for all participants along with any files attached to it. Here’s how to delete a message:

  1. In the chat, hover over the message you want to delete.
  2. Click the three-dots icon.
  3. Click Delete.

  1. Select Delete to confirm.
