Send and read messages

Use ExpertBox to communicate with experts via chats and video conferencing.

  • A chat is created the moment you book an appointment. Chats provide continuous communication with experts and are not limited to the duration of an appointment.
  • A video meeting room becomes available 15 minutes before an appointment begins.

All chats with experts are safely stored in your account. You can access them and view shared files and recordings whenever you need them.

Keep in mind: Your files and recordings may not be accessible forever. It’s best to download them if you know you’ll need them later.

Open chat

Open a chat to message an expert, see your message history with the expert, and access all shared files and recordings. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Go to the Chats tab. You’ll see chats with every expert you’ve booked an appointment with.

  1. Click on the card with the expert whose chat you want to open.

Write and read messages

Write messages

You can start sending messages right after you’ve booked an appointment. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Go to Chats.
  3. Click on the card with the expert whose chat you want to open.


  1. Write a message.
  2. Press Enter or click Send.

Tip: We send email notifications about all new messages to make sure experts get them even if they’re offline.

Read messages

If a chat card has a blue counter on it, that means there are unread messages in the chat. You can click this card to open the conversation and view them. These new messages will be marked as read as soon as you open the chat.
